If you want to go out where the locals go out. Punta Cana in San Telmo is one of the best places to have a few drinls and meet the locals. Open till very late, but the busiest days are without doubt fridays and saturdays.
Highly recommended, for those of you that wants to have a smell of local night life. At the same time you will find a lot of different bars in that area - most of them local places.
